This year, a total of 43 building applications were received in the competition "The most energy-efficient building in Latvia", of which the largest number of buildings - 32 - are competing for victory in the nomination "The most energy-efficient renovated apartment building in Latvia 2024".

This year, a total of 43 building applications were received in the competition "The most energy-efficient building in Latvia", of which the largest number of buildings - 32 - are competing for victory in the nomination "The most energy-efficient renovated apartment building in Latvia 2024".

Already in the 14th year, as part of the "Live Warmer" campaign of the Ministry of Economy, the competition "The most energy-efficient building in Latvia" is announced with the aim of promoting good practice in the field of energy efficiency and sustainability of buildings, implementing the construction, renovation and reconstruction of energy-efficient buildings, thus reducing the amount of greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere and promoting public understanding of well-being, heat resistance of buildings, microclimate of rooms, as well as the importance and possibilities of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in order to create a high-quality, architecturally expressive living space.

Applications for the competition "Energy-efficient building in Latvia 2024" could be submitted until this year. for June 18. During the summer, the competition jury will evaluate all submitted applications, make a decision on the buildings that will be forwarded to the second round of the competition, as well as conduct an in-person inspection of the buildings. On the other hand, awarding the winners of the competition is planned this year. in September.

In the nomination "The most energy-efficient renovated multi-apartment building in Latvia in 2023” 32 applications were submitted, applying for the tender for buildings at the following addresses:

  3. 108 Dzelzavas Street, Riga.

In the nomination "The most energy-efficient public in Latvia in 2024” submitted seven applications, bidding for buildings at the following addresses:

  1. Bauska BJSS sports hall, Pilskalnas iela 26, Bauska;
  2. Cosmos Knowledge Center, Cīrulīšu Street 63, Cēsis;
  3. RIMI store, Rīgas iela 22, Ķekava;
  4. Ogre State Gymnasium, Meža prospekt 17, Ogre;
  5. Buildings of Babīte High School and Sports Complex, Jūrmalas iela 17, Pinķi;
  6. Medical Education Technology Center, Anniņmuižas bulvāris 26A, Riga;
  7. VSIA "Strenču psychoneurological hospital", Valkas iela 11, Strenči, Valmiera region.

In the nomination "The most energy-efficient detached house in Latvia” submitted one application - Celmu iela 20, Jaunmārupe, Mārupe district.

The rules of the contest have been prepared in cooperation with the cooperation partners of the informative campaign "Live Warmer" - the State Construction Control Office, the State Fire and Rescue Service, the European Commission Representation in Latvia, AS "Sadales tīkls", the Elektrum Energy Efficiency Center, the Rural Support Service, the Riga Energy Agency, Riga Technical university, Rīga Stradiņš University, Latvian House Managers and Managers Association, Latvian Window and Door Manufacturers Association, Building Materials Manufacturers Association, Latvian Mineral Wool Manufacturers Association, Latvian Union of Heat, Gas and Water Technology Engineers, Financial Industry Association and SIA "Public asset manager Possessor" .
