Mazda has unveiled the all-new electric Mazda 6e, a five-door hatchback that is the latest addition to the Mazda model range, at the Brussels Motor Show.

With a 68,8 kWh battery, the Mazda 6e delivers an impressive range of up to 479 kilometres on a single charge. Fast charging capabilities allow the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes using 200 kW DC charging, while a 15-minute charge adds up to 235 kilometres. The car is powered by a 190 kW (258 hp) electric motor with 320 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7,6 seconds and a top speed of 175 km/h. Additional efficiency is provided by a standard heat pump system.

Electrifying design – perfection itself

The exterior design of the Mazda 6e reflects Mazda's philosophy of "Kodo: Soul of Motion", emphasizing elegant lines and dynamic accents. The combination of a coupe-like silhouette with the practicality of a five-door creates a sporty and sophisticated image. Among the highlights are frameless doors with integrated handles, dynamic rear lights and an electrically extendable spoiler, which together create a modern and sophisticated design.

The car's distinctive design features include a bold headlight signature and frameless doors with integrated handles, giving the car a uniform and modern look. At the rear, four cylindrical segment lights and an electrically extendable spoiler add a touch of dynamics.

Spacious and modern interior

The Mazda 6e's interior is inspired by the Japanese concept of "ma," which emphasizes simplicity and spaciousness. There is plenty of legroom for both front and rear passengers, while a panoramic glass roof fills the cabin with natural light. Premium materials create a calm, focused atmosphere, and the floating center console and instrument panel enhance the lightness of the interior.

The Mazda 6e is available in two trim levels: Takumi and Takumi Plus. Takumi models feature a warm beige or black faux leather interior, while Takumi Plus cars feature premium Tan Nappa leather and suede trim, complete with an electric panoramic sunroof. Harmonious exterior and interior design elements combine to create a harmonious combination of style, comfort and functionality.

The Mazda6e is a shining example of modern technology and design, setting a new standard for electric mobility. I am confident that this model will combine advanced technology, excellent design and comfort, becoming a popular choice for customers.

A well-thought-out and adaptable driver's area

The sophisticated dashboard is focused on the driver and features a customizable 14,6-inch touchscreen, a 10,2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 50-inch augmented reality display that projects key information, including navigation and speed, directly into the driver's field of vision. Advanced voice and gesture control functions make it easier to interact with, for example, climate, navigation and multimedia systems, while a 14-speaker SonyPRO® system provides high-quality musical enjoyment for passengers.

Passenger safety comes first

Safety is a priority for the Mazda6e. Passengers and driver are protected by a total of nine airbags and Mazda's advanced driver assistance system, which helps avoid potential hazards with autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition and many other features.

Using a rear-seat camera, the new Seat Monitoring System recognizes rear passengers and projects them onto the center display. When the driver gets out of the car, an acoustic warning signal reminds them to make sure that children are not accidentally left unattended.

The fully equipped Mazda6e Takumi model will start at €45. Detailed pricing information will be announced in spring 000, and the model will be available in European Mazda showrooms in summer 2025.

Charged opinion

I've liked the Mazda 6 since I was in high school. I was less interested in the technical aspects than in the design language that radiated from this car. Now it will be available in electric form and even with acceptable technical aspects. Maybe I should start postponing my midlife crisis purchase...

Just one question – Mazda 6e or Mazda6e?
